 Thoughts To Ponder

Leviticus 6:13 reads: "The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar, it shall never go out."

Keep the altar of private prayer burning as this is the very life of all piety.  The sanctuary, the family alters, the close fellowships all borrow their fires here so therefore let the fire burn well. Let your prayer closet moments be frequent and undisturbed.  You say you have nothing to pray for?  How about praying for you nation, your leaders, your relatives, your family, your neighbors, the church.  How about praying that people’s eyes, ears and minds would be opened to the cause of God and truth throughout the world?

We need to examine ourselves in our spiritual prayer life.  Do we engage with Luke warmness in private devotion?  Is the fire of devotion burning dimly in our hearts?  If this is the condition of our prayer life then we need to ask for the Holy Spirit to set our hearts afire to let us become folks who set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer.  If our fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on the family alter lessening our influence in both church and the world.

God loves to see our hearts glowing towards Him.  Let us give our hearts to God with blazing love and seek His grace that the fire may never be quenched. The fire will not burn long unless the Lord keeps it burning. Make no mistake, the enemy will attempt to extinguish it but the unseen hand behind the wall will pour thereon the sacred oil causing your fire to blaze higher and higher.  Let us use Scripture, song and praise as fuel for our hearts fire as they are all live coals that will keep our spiritual life ablaze for Christ.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

James 5:16
